What is the meaning / definition of Golf Resort in the hospitality industry?

Golf Resorts is a full service lodging facility, that cater specifically to the sport of golf, and provides access to a golf course. Golf Resorts typically offer golf packages that provide visitors with all greens, cart fees, range balls, accommodations and meals.

As a self-contained establishment, a Golf Resort provides for most of a vacationer’s needs while remaining on the premises (lodging, food, drink, sports, entertainment, shopping, etc.).

The benefits of booking a Resort Hotel are that the guest finds an all-around service within the premises. It is convenient for families, offering kids-club, evening entertaining program, shopping etc. In cases the Resort is located far away from the city, the Resort provides all the infrastructure needed (it is a ‘village’ itself). In the case of a Golf Resort the guest benefits from the proximity to the Golf course and at the same time is provided with all the other services he wishes for during his stay.
