What is the meaning / definition of in the industry?

CTD stands for Closed to Departure. It is a specific set of days guests cannot make their reservation for with this date as check-out.

In contrary to , they can book the rooms before and through the dates but they cannot make reservation that their stay would end on one of those very specific “close to departure” dates. * This is practice has originated from the airlines, and really should not be applied in . It would close you out for sales even to someone wanting to stay for a long time but arriving on a seamingly wrong date. This is not considered a good practice in management.
